There is an age old tradition some communities to purposefully include a mistake in all their handmade items to remind themselves that they are imperfect; to strive for their best selves, but to know they are not designed to be without fault and to remain humble.
Such a beautiful sentiment and so true. We can be so hard on ourselves, even when we are doing out best to be our best.
As I created a gift for a new mom and dad-to-be, I decided to be “purposefully imperfect” in a spot. See it?? Four double crochet when there should only be three.
=I then penned (actually typed 😉 ) a pretty little poem, that I printed and added to the gift.
