Designed as a quick cute Halloween party gift for my son’s classroom, this is a realllly cute way to share the love, make kiddos happy, and have an alternate treat to candy (HEY, candy is great but this balance is good!)

MATERIALS:
-5yds or less bulky weight blanket yarn, Shown Bernat Blanket
-H(5mm) crochet hook
– black yarn or thread for the smile
-pink fabric marker or blush for the cheeks
-stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle
-10mm (many sizes will work tho!) black safety eyes. I used: https://amzn.to/3ZotfQx
-“Houses” for jars if desired. I used: https://amzn.to/3rofyEw
-green scrap yarn for the bottom of the jar to simulate grass

*Tip: Make your magic ring as small as you can and still fit the stitches in, blanket yarn is hard to pull.
*Mark the 1st and last st of each round to keep track. Verify count then move them to the next round.
*Do not turn or join rounds unless specified.
Make magic ring, ch1:
Rnd 1: 8sc in ring, pull tail to close ring. (8)
Rnd 2: scinc, sc in nxt 7. (9)
Rnd 3: marking the 6th and 8th st, sc in each st around. (9)
Rnd 4 (make arms): sc in nxt 4sts, ch2, slst in 1st and 2nd ch from hook, sc in nxt 5sts, ch2, slst in 1st and 2nd ch from hook. (9sc plus two arms)
Place Eyes/Sew Mouth: Place eyes between rnd 2 & 3, at the base of the 6th and 8th marked sts on rnd 3. Using the needle and the black yarn or thread, sew a small mouth on. Some I did a “u” shape, some are “v” shape, and still others are a straight or offset line. Tie the ends of the mouth inside the ghost and trim ends.
Rnd 5: pushing the arms to the rs of work – (sc in nxt 2, inc) 3x, slst to 1st st made. (12)
Rnd 6: do not ch1, *(sc,hdc,sc) in nxt st, sk nxt st, rep from *, 5X, slst to 1st cut yarn. Weave in ends.
Using a pink fabric paint marker or a little blush, blush the cheeks. If using the adoption certificate, place one in each jar, a small amount of scrap fiber is nice as well. Enjoy!
